What We Believe

In terms of our church’s broad theological tradition we are Non-denominational, Historic, Protestant, Complementarian, and Baptistic:

  • We are a Non-Denominational church and belong to the Association of Hill Country Churches

  • We affirm the Historic Creeds (Apostles’ Creed, Nicene Creed, Athanasian Creed, Chalcedonian Creed)

  • We follow the theological tradition of the Protestant Reformation (Sola scriptura, Solus Christus, Sola fide, Sola gratia, Soli Deo gloria)

  • We are Complementarian with regard to God’s design for men and women (Danvers Statement)

  • We are Baptistic in that we practice believer’s baptism by immersion (and align with the Baptist Confession of Faith)

For a brief summary of our church’s particular beliefs, we have outlined our Core Doctrines below.

  • We believe the Bible, as revealed to us in the Old and New Testaments, is our final authority and without error in its original manuscripts.

  • We believe in One God who exists eternally as three co-equal, fully divine persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is God Incarnate, both fully God and fully human at the same time and forever.

  • We believe that every person has inherent worth and value because they are created in the image of God, and yet that every person is a sinner by nature and by choice and unable to justify themselves before God based on their own good deeds. As a result, all human beings are completely corrupt, alienated from God, and subject to His wrath.

  • We believe that Jesus died in our place for our sins, was buried, and then was physically resurrected to new life.

  • We believe that people are reconciled to God and reborn to eternal life by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ and not as the result of any human efforts.

  • We believe that ongoing dependence on the indwelling Holy Spirit is necessary for the believer to walk in holiness and fruitful ministry.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ will return to the earth in the future to finalize His work of redemption and restoration.
